Scoring is a gameplay mechanic in all Peggle Games. It is a decisive mechanic in achieving Ace in all Peggle, Peggle Nights, Peggle Extreme and Peggle 2 and in some Challenges and in Duel Mode, while the amount of score in Peggle Blast decides at the final of the level if the player gets one, two or three stars, getting one star being mandatory for passing the level.

Calculating[]

Level Score[]

The level score is a hte score earned during a level. Its' formula is the following:

;

where

Fever Points;

number of balls shot;

Shot Points.

Shot Points[]

Shot points are points earned after a ball is shot and falls out of the screen.

;

where

style points;

number of pegs/bricks hit;

peg score.

Style points are points earned by performing a Style Shot.

The number of pegs/bricks hit is self explanatory.

Peg Score[]

Peg score is the total number of points earned by hitting (lightning up) pegs. After hitting a peg it its score contribution is shown on-screen.

Fever Points in Peggle, Peggle Nights, Extreme and 2[]

Fever points are earned in the shot where the player manages to light up the last orange peg. It's formula of calculation is:

;

where,

number of points earned before and while hitting the last orange peg, calculated in the same manner as the shot points;

number of points earned after hitting the last orange peg, calculated in the same manner as the shot points;

hole points;

number of pegs unshot.

Hole Points[]

After hitting the last orange peg the Free Ball Bucket will disappear and the bottom part of the board will be split into five different sections separated by some solid disk-like objects. Each section has a number written on it from left to right being "10,000", "50,000", "100,000", "50,000", "10,000". If the ball falls through a section the number of hole points will be equal with the number written on that specific section. In Duel Mode the number of points is reduced to "5,000", "25,000" and "50,000" respectively. If all the pegs are cleared all the bottom sections will grant the player 100,000 points.

Tips and strategies[]

  • If the player achieves 25,000, 75,000 or 125,000 Peg Points, they will be granted a free ball.
    • The only exception is in some levels, where it is specified so.
    • That means that the player can get three free balls just by scoring high.
  • Ace score is given if the player manages to beat a set score, usually within the 275,000 to 400,000.
  • When the multiplier is at x10, the player can get a free ball just by hitting a purple peg and any other four pegs.
  • If the player has only one orange peg left on screen and some spare balls, they can try hitting the purple peg and at least one blue/green peg, as it grants them more score rather than just hitting the orange peg and claiming the unused balls at the end of the round.
    • By doing the maths, hitting a purple peg with just a blue/green peg will give 10,200 points, while an unused ball will give 10,000 points at the end of the round, which is slightly less.
  • If possible, the player should focus on hitting most of the orange pegs first, by doing this increasing the score multiplier.
  • For new players, the Peg Scoring may seem linear, but it isn't.

Useful Masters:

  • Bjorn:
    • With his Super Guide the player can perform more easily some style shots, such as Long Shots, Free Ball Skills, Extreme Slides and more.
  • Tula:
    • With her Flower Power, the player can manage to light more orange pegs, increasing the multiplier and avoiding hitting the other ones.
  • Warren:
    • There is a 25% chance that the player can get Triple Score Magic Power, which will triple the Peg Score for two rounds, including the round the player gets the power up.
      • Also, the tripled score will get the player free balls if it hits the 25k, 75k and 125k tiers. This means that the player will need to get 8,340, 25,000 and 41,670 actual points to achieve those tiers.
  • Master Hu:
    • His Magic Power re-aims the ball in order to achieve more points.
  • Kat Tut:
    • In Peggle Nights, every ball that falls in the Free Ball Bucket, while his Magic Power is active will grant the player 10,000 style points.
